Re-Elect Jay Arnold to Kirkland City Council
I’m honored to represent you on the Kirkland City Council. I’ve worked hard to keep Kirkland beautiful and vibrant. I’m proud of the work we have done together to build new parks and expand existing ones, improve the Cross Kirkland Corridor, and invest in complete streets, safe school walk routes, and the downtown waterfront. Kirkland added mental health professionals as a new type of first responder for those in crisis, while keeping fire and police fully funded and staffed. We have hired new firefighters/EMTs to improve response times and built new and renovated fire stations in case of earthquake, fulfilling the promise to voters of Fire Proposition #1. I’ve protected landmark trees, championed green buildings, and planned for Kirkland’s future sustainability.
We have more work to do! We need to provide more housing opportunities and make Kirkland more affordable for everyone. Like we did with Totem Lake, we need to be all-in to promote the opportunities in the 85th Street station area for jobs and housing near Bus Rapid Transit. We need transit that works for Kirkland, both connecting to the region and also connecting our neighborhoods to each other. We need to fulfill our vision for the Cross Kirkland Corridor. Most importantly, in these uncertain times, we have to protect our values as a safe, welcoming, inclusive, sustainable community.
I do my homework, listen to ideas and concerns, develop pragmatic solutions, and make steady progress toward our future goals.
I ask for your vote to continue moving forward, together.
